Muscles Pain and Fitness in old Age! lets talk about Fitness.
Most people look back fondly on their early adults years.Their bodies were very forgiving and their lives weren’t usually weight down by responsibility.They’d bounce back quickly from late nights and if injured the healing seemed quick and uncomplicated.Fast-forward ten years or more and things change.
The bounce becomes more like a slow inflating baloon and the injury recovery is no longer swift or certain. Yet many people’s expectations haven’t changed:if hurt,they want and often expect the same results from care they had experienced decades earlier.
Sadly that isn’t going to happen because they are older and age strongly influences healing time.I used to play tennis but stopped as it was troubling my shoulder.I haven’t done anything about it because I thought it was just part of getting 0ld’.
Often simple,treatable injuries are mistakenly put down to advancing years.And rather than seeking care many middle aged or older people start to place unnecessary limits on their life style and activity. Usually this isn’t required as the injuries aren’t due to old age. Most are strains and sprains and mechanical problems to do with poor movement,overuse or not warming up or cooling down properly. Sometimes there might be a small injury from a fall or Slip.
The good news is that with appropriate care and advice most of these problems will settle and can return to your chose activity.So if you feel it is the number of candles on your cake that is affecting your game then get a opinion.
The last thing you want to do is to hang up your boots,bat,clubs or rake before you have to. Who knows with a ‘Tune-up’ your game might improve. If you have issues with pain ask your Doctor for their advice;there are a number of options that may help you switch off and better manage the unwanted discomfort.
As we age exercise,nutrition are our main factor. As does having reasonable yet positive expectation for care if or when we injure ourselves.
The goal for care is to work naturally with the ‘BODY’,encourage its healing powers and then assist ourselves to heal.
